Saalbach is an ideal resort for schools offering traditional Austrian charm and plentiful après ski. This is one of the biggest linked ski areas in Austria and every level of skier will enjoy a fantastic variety of slopes. Unlike most Austrian ski areas this resort is a ‘Ski-Circus’ and covers the villages of Leogang, Vorderglemm, Saalbach and Hinterglemm. It is possible to ski around the whole valley without any walking or bussing.
The skiing here is varied and fun and school groups will benefit from the choice and adventure on offer. The old and the new blend seamlessly together with a modern lift system and powerful snowmaking combined with a great sense of ski tradition.
There is always a definite feel-good factor at work and each village has its own appeal. Saalbach has sunshine and good cruising on vast blues, Hinterglemm has great variety, superb snow, and is slightly steeper whilst Vorderglemm has a bit of both as well as good links to Leogang where there are some glorious, long runs through the trees. Both Saalbach and Hinterglemm have beginners slopes in the resort and at the top.
Saalbach is big and lively, but still has great charm, a safe, car-free centre, plenty of après ski and all the traditional Austrian attractions.
