GCSE in Physical Education

Skiing and snowboarding are excellent choices for practical assessment as an outdoor and adventurous sports category for a GCSE in Physical Education. This qualification can lead to an A Level in Sport Studies/Physical Education and many careers such as teaching, coaching, leisure/tourism and physiotherapy. It is a valid A-Level for entrance into Higher Education.

Candidates are assessed on skills/ manoeuvres from basic stance through to linked parallel turns and short swings; other areas of knowledge vary from everything from the ski-way code and risk awareness in a mountain environment through to equipment maintenance. Elements of the practical assessment are usually submitted as a video recording.
