Equity on the slopes

At Equity School Ski we have been organising school ski trips since 1991 with many thousands of pupils having had the opportunity to experience the slopes with us. The following section highlights some important information about your school ski experience with us.

Snow Cannons
As well as selecting resorts with proven snow reliability, we also look for powerful snowmaking facilities, because a modern system can virtually guarantee good cover on the most important pistes.
The technology improves all the time and these days most resorts can stay open and safe even in poor snow winters by better piste grooming. Snow is made overnight and moved on to the vulnerable areas ready for the next day.

Piste Maps
There is no consistent policy for the grading of runs.
For example, a French blue may be an Italian red, and an Austrian blue may be a green everywhere else. Please refer to our resort descriptions for a better idea.

Ski Schools
We have excellent relations with all our ski schools. Equity are often their biggest client so we can get things done.
We use English speaking instructors, and the class size is an average of 12. Teachers on free places are not included in this ratio because they usually ski from class to class.
We include 6x2 hr lessons. Double ski lessons (6x4 hrs) are available at the supplement shown in our Price List.

Ski Equipment
Our hire shops provide good quality equipment from top manufacturers, then fit and service it to the highest standards.
We ask for shoe and ski sizes before you travel so that we can order sufficient quantities in about the right sizes. Of course all equipment is individually fitted.
If you would like special skis or an upgrade at a supplement, please let us know.

Ski Helmets
These are compulsory for all children aged under 14 skiing in Italian resorts (and Montgenèvre if you ski across the border). In line with guidance from RoSPA (Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents) and an increasing number of Local Authorities we highly recommend that all our groups wear ski helmets. We can arrange ski helmet hire for your group with prices starting from £15.
Before you travel, we will obtain sizes so that we can pre-book ski helmets along with other ski equipment.

Ski Clothing Hire
We do not hire out ski clothing ourselves but we can usually recommend a ski shop that can supply good quality and good value clothing to hire or buy.

Snow promise

Skis on the snow

Our insurance covers adverse weather conditions (not just poor snow), which, in the opinion of the ski school, may prevent you from skiing safely. We take pride in our ability to make alternative arrangements if necessary. We always give accurate snow reports before you travel, and if conditions are very poor, we will, if possible, offer you an alternative ski course, or transport you to better snow. For full details please see the insurance cover featured in our Price List.
