There are wide uncrowded runs at village level which are serviced by drag and chairlifts. Progression here is easy and soon beginners will be able to tackle the long blue runs down from the higher slopes at 1,700m. Following the construction of a 4-person hooded chairlift in San Pietro, there are now three main interlinking ski areas – the Magnolta, the Palabione and the Baradello.
The Baradello is the place to ski once you have mastered your technique as it offers a selection of exciting red and black runs. Or head to Dosso Paso, which offers the highest skiing at 2,240m. From here the descent is through a superb network of runs on wide open snow fields.
Aprica is a well-established resort, with plenty for schools to see and do. Après-ski options here include an indoor swimming pool, floodlit ice-skating and night skiing.
