Beginners have sheltered nursery slopes and good snow at altitude to inspire confidence. Progression is easy and natural and there are interesting journeys on pretty tree-lined runs. Intermediates have an array of well kept, fairly amiable blues and reds and quite high mileage of 100km.
The best area is just above Folgaria and Serrada, and offers 60km of skiing in open bowls and tree-lined runs on undulating gentle slopes, which are great fun for youngsters. Modern snow-making now covers almost the whole system and there’s a skating rink. The ski school is friendly and helpful, as are all the local suppliers. Overall, Folgaria is exceptionally good value and a good place for schools to learn and develop ski technique.
