The big network of lifts is modern, efficient and user-friendly and there is hardly any walking or queuing. The huge nursery slopes are wide, sunny and gentle, a great choice for nervous novices. The glacier is reached via gondola and the skiing is in a high bowl at over 3,000m.
Passo Tonale is a fantastic choice for beginners and intermediates as there are plenty of blue and red runs to explore. There is also a magical 7km run through woods to Ponte di Legno, with its beautiful old town and tree-lined runs. The journey takes you past little farms and a Husky Dog Training School on a lovely forest run which can be managed by confident snowploughers.
Advanced skiers will enjoy the challenge of the resorts black runs including the superb run down from the top of the cable car. Tonale is a genuine mountain community so it’s nice and friendly and prices are reasonable. There’s a warm, welcoming atmosphere and plenty to do.
