For beginners there’s a whole mountain, Spruce Peak, crisscrossed with easygoing runs which is the perfect place to learn and progress. Once confident, instructors will take groups to the top of Mt Mansfield from where they can ski almost four miles down Toll Road, a fabulous long green which snakes through the trees.
Intermediates can enjoy good progression runs on both peaks and expert skiers will relish the challenge of the infamous Front Four – arguably the most thrilling runs in the east. For snowboarders Stowe has a specialist Burton ‘Learn to Ride Centre’ and the Tyro terrain park for those who love catching air.
Stowe also has comprehensive snow-making facilities to bolster its large annual snow fall: 80% of all trails are covered with snow cannons to maintain a great snow base throughout the season.
