SkiFast Stages
About Equity
Our unique SkiFAST programme clearly sets out a learning method for our groups to ensure each individual student gains a full understanding of skiing and the alpine environment.
SkiFAST has been developed with leading Ski Schools to transfer knowledge and information to students as efficiently as possible. The programme is available in all of our European resorts so wherever you choose to travel you can rest assured that your group will receive first-class ski instruction.
The programme is split into three stages, Beginners, Intermediates and Advanced, meaning each student follows the right course for them. Each course has been designed specifically for school groups encouraging students to progress quickly and confidently into this new and exciting skill.
GCSE in Physical Education
Skiing and snowboarding are excellent choices for practical assessment as an outdoor and adventurous sports category for a GCSE in Physical Education. This qualification can lead to an A Level in Sport Studies/Physical Education and many careers such as teaching, coaching, leisure/tourism and physiotherapy. It is a valid A-Level for entrance into Higher Education.
Candidates are assessed on skills/ manoeuvres from basic stance through to linked parallel turns and short swings; other areas of knowledge vary from everything from the ski-way code and risk awareness in a mountain environment through to equipment maintenance.
Elements of the practical assessment are usually submitted as a video recording.
