In the heart of Austria’s Salzburgerland, amidst classic Austrian scenery, the Salzburger Sportwelt has everything wintersport fans could possibly wish for. This area is made up of the Three Valleys of Flachau, Wagrain and St Johann im Pongau and is one of the largest skiing regions in Austria with 350kms of runs and a network of 100 lifts.
If that’s not enough then the lift pass covers the entire Amadé region offering you an enormous variety of 865kms of piste and 276 lifts to choose from. Efficient access to the slopes, excellent tuition and that famous Austrian hospitality all ensure a fantastic experience for our ski groups.
From safe, wide-open beginner pistes to fitness stretches for the experts, the Salzburger Sportwelt offers a rich variety of skiing and snowboarding. Most of the runs are blues and reds which provide a great opportunity for beginners to improve their skiing skills. Groups staying at the Sportheim hotel tend to start on the slopes at Altenmarkt or Zauchensee whilst groups staying at the Hotel Saringgut will normally start at Wagrain.
At Wagrain groups can head for the ‘Flying Mozart’ gondola which gives high speed access to the upper slopes. Intermediate skiers can easily explore the entire area and choose from a wide selection of exciting reds. Overall this is a fantastic destination with extensive skiing on vast snowfields and it is a great choice for school groups.
Snowboarders will also find ample challenges in this area both on the wide runs and also in the funparks at Flachau. The ski schools here are particularly efficient and will help beginners master their turns in no time!
For advanced skiers the Zauchensee offers some testing and exhilarating runs.
Village Facts
There is a wide range of après ski facilities and activities on offer in the region. Possibilites include floodlit skiing in nearby Flachau, The Amadé Water World in Wagrain which features an indoor pool with counter-current jets, a Jaccuzzi, paddling pool, flume, and a 50m water slide with light and sound effects.
