School ski holidays in La Toussuire
Part of the 4th largest ski area in France, La Toussuire has reliable snow, great skiing and a warm atmosphere.
La Toussuire was built in 1926 and was specifically designed for winter sports. Since then, the resort has grown in both size and reputation, boasting huge mileage and home-grown Olympic medalists. Although the resort is purpose-built, there is very much a village ambiance, with clients returning year after year thanks to the friendly welcome that they receive. There are plenty of slopes to keep skiers occupied in La Toussuire and clients can also enjoy the long runs to other villages in Les Sybelles ski area. La Toussuire has links to the resorts of Le Corbier, St Jean d’Arves, St Sorlin d’Arves, St Colomban and Les Bottieres, and is now the 4th largest ski area in France.
All levels of skiers will enjoy the variety of slopes on offer in La Toussuire. The majority of pistes run into the huge sunny bowl that is the main ski area of the resort. Beginner skiers are able to practice their new skills on a variety of slopes and are not restricted to one area. Intermediate skiers will enjoy the long blue and red runs that cover the whole resort. Advanced skiers will no doubt want to make use of the Les Sybelles pass which gives them access to a massive 310kms of pistes!
The village is not unattractive for a purpose-built resort and has a warm feel. All facilities are located at the bottom of the slopes and the main shopping area is pedestrian only, and therefore safe for children to wander around supervised. There is a supermarket and several gift shops, which are always popular with our Equity clients.
There is a good variety of evening entertainment available including a bowling alley, an outdoor natural ice rink and a good selection of creperies, pizzerias and traditional Savoyard restaurants. Coach groups can also enjoy evening entertainments in nearby Le Corbier including a swimming pool and torchlit ski descents.
