As far as we know, we are the only British operator featuring this excellent circuit. It has always potentially been a good area but a big new investment has seen this come to fruition.
Purpose-built Artesina's main features are big mileage, convenience and value. It is also very friendly, kind to beginners and only a 2hr transfer.
The area covers about 100km and is made up of Artesina, Prato Nevoso and Frabosa Soprana, all of which are linked by lift and piste. There is lots of easy and intermediate skiing and it resembles the French Sud Alpes resorts just over the border. Many slopes face north for added snow security and the modern lift system has new, powerful snow cannons. Artesina does not have to rely on them though because, like Prato Nevoso , it has excellent natural conditions. The locals tell us it has a special micro climate where the warmer winds from the South collide with the cold Alpine air and create lots of snow. Sounds like resort PR but all we can say is that the proof is in the pudding!
The link to Prato is easy for all abilities thanks to 2 new blue runs. Progression is terrific for keen learners and plenty of long, wide runs above the trees invite ambitious intermediates to work hard and get off that plateau. We also especially recommend the fantastic ski school. This circuit offers enough for advanced skiers using the whole of the system but experts should look elsewhere. It is all typical Italian skiing, userfriendly, sociable and great fun. Overall this is a perfect resort for schools.
Artesina village is small and developed for skiers so it's really convenient and virtually traffic free. Last year a huge underground car park was built so you can now ski right up to the terrace of our hotel. There are a few shops, cafes, restaurants and other facilities. The ski shop is right by our hotel and everything is close to hand. There are big plans to develop the village as well so watch this space!
