School ski holidays in Jungfrau

World class resort with superb skiing and incredible scenery to enjoy.

The world renowned resort of Jungfrau is one of the oldest established ski areas in Europe and British skiers started taking winter holidays here over a century ago. This region includes the resorts of Wengen, Mürren and Grindelwald which sit either side of the Kleine Scheidegg and are overlooked by the mighty peaks of the spectacular Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.

The scenery here is some of the most incredible you will find in any ski resort and there are breathtaking views to enjoy everywhere you look.

The 200km of marked piste is served by a total of 40 lifts and the skiing here is suited to all levels of skiing ability. Our groups start at Grindelwald where there are nursery slopes just above the village including a new blue piste at Oberjoch and progression is quick thanks to the excellent ski schools.

The full pass provides almost unlimited scope for intermediates on a wide range of gentle pistes or more challenging runs down the Kleine Scheidegg mountain. One real highlight is the 8km run from Oberjoch down to Grindelwald with terrific views to enjoy.

There is plenty for experts here as well such as the Lauberhorn World Cup downhill piste or the fearsome Black Rock run which starts at the base of the Eiger. For the daring there is also the famous black ‘Kanonenrohr’ in Mürren which is almost vertical and provides a real test of nerves!

One unique thing about Jungfrau is the mountain railway which links the resorts and is covered on the pass. Wengen can only be reached by the railway and offers superb skiing with the massive snow bowl at Männlichen. The railway has kept the villages traffic free allowing them to remain unspoilt and keep a charming, traditional atmosphere.

There is lots to do off the snow and the train is a good fun way to get around. Après-ski is quite laid-back but there are several bars and restaurants as well as an ice skating rink and swimming or bowling trips can be taken to nearby Interlaken. Overall Grindelwald not only offers excellent skiing but stunning scenery to boot. Views of the Eiger rising from the valley are hard to beat and will help inspire your group to get up early every morning and enjoy the slopes.

Village Facts

Grindelwald has a bustling and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Nightlife is laid back but there is a good variety of après ski activities to suit everyone.
