Skiing in Canada
Le Massif not only has the most spectacular setting overlooking the St Lawrence River, but it also has spectacular terrain to match! It's Quebec's most popular resort with locals and is only a 25-minute drive from our accommodation in Mont Ste Anne, the popular Hotel Val Des Neiges.
On arriving at Le Massif, you will find that the 'base lodge' is actually at the 'Summit' so even beginners get to start right at the top of the mountain!
The excellent nursery area at the summit means that beginners get the benefit of the unforgettable views at the start of the week on the easy green runs such as 'La Pente Ecole' and 'La Goelette'. From there they can begin discovering the whole mountain and by the end of the week, even the most nervous first-timers will be able to ski from top to bottom on a series of well-linked green runs. Intermediates will be delighted at the range and variety of the skiing here, with wide-open blues, and runs through the trees. The advanced skiers also have a fantastic choice of black and double-black runs to choose from, including the World Cup downhill run 'Le Charlevoix'. For any snowboarders, as well as the extensive terrain, there are 2 fabulous snowboard parks: for beginners, there is the mini-park and for the more experienced, there is “The Zone”.
