Ski Mammoth

North America’s third largest resort. Living up to its name, this enormous mountain is California’s highest, and its wide variety of trails stay open from November till late May. As well as, on average, 300 days of sunshine a year, Mammoth benefits from a heavy and reliable snowfall - with over 400+ inches annually.

There are 3 main base areas, each with rental facilities and ski storage. With a choice of over 150 trails and 9 terrain parks it truly caters for all abilities. The terrain is incredibly well-varied, with everything you could possibly want all located somewhere on the mountain.

Off the slopes, the lively atmosphere of this authentic American ski town is always popular with students, and there’s everything from swimming to the cinema and bowling alley to entertain them, as well as free buses that shuttle into town.

Tree-lined trails, fast steeps, wide-open bowls and challenging chutes are all available at Mammoth, as well as 9 terrain parks which cater for everyone. Advanced skiers have plenty of scope too, including the longest and steepest trails in the west.

Stayed as part of a secondary school trip with a load of kids, and must say it was an ideal hotel / resort. The hotel is about 200 meters from the chair lifts and drag lift. It is possible to ski back to the hotel.
